Carmarthenshire County Council has undertaken a number of measures to green school buildings in its area. On new buildings, these include rainwater harvesting, green roofs, higher insulation, solar water heating and solar electricity generation.

Using an angled support rail arrangement, the solar photovoltaic panels were installed on the building’s flat roof. As is normal in such situations, the installation has a minimal visual impact, in this case helped by the design of the roof with a perimeter upstand.
